Trumpeter Enrico Rava has established the contemporary jazz aesthetics in Italy and helped the careers of many extraordinary talents we’ve seen playing on this Festival in previous years (Gianluca Petrella, Giovanni Guidi, Stefano Bollani). Joe Lovano won a considerable number of Downbeat Magazine awards in various categories, he is a one-time Grammy winner and 14 times Grammy nominee. Their set list consist mostly of compositions by Rava, providing an excellent ground for the battle of these two giants, accompanied by Giovanni Guidi and with Americans Dezron Douglas and Gerald Cleaver forming the rhythm section.
