Julia is a long-time exclusive artist of the ECM and her work features an atmosphere typical for this label – ambience, thoughtful and gentle music for late hours.

Shew’s trumpet can be heard in films Grease, Rocky, The Muppet Movie, in the TV series Streets of San Francisco, and he is an outstanding teacher – for 16 years, he’s been the chairman of the national trumpet department with International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE).

His first band Jimi Tenor & His Shamans (1986-1990) was influenced by industrial rock, then he was celebrated as a trendy techno-jazzer in England, then he found himself accompanied by symphony orchestra, then he returned to his roots: jazz rock, psychedelic soul and African funk. This is why his audience consists of clubbers and alternative rockers, jazz and funk rebels. Exclusively in Belgrade, he will reconstruct the legendary club from the 1990s, album Intervision.

Since foundation in 2009, the band released three albums, a number of singles and a vinyl remix edition, and performed at important Middle European festivals, gaining reputation as one of the most exciting young formations in Austria. They also won two very prestigious awards, the BAWAG P.S.K. Next Generation Jazz Award for 2014 and the 2014 the German Bremen Jazz Award.
